After the May flood in Nashville, it is clear that safe housing can be very tenuous for any of us. But for years, our brothers and sisters in Nashville and around the world have known this. The struggles that homeless individuals and families face every day are visible all around us. What have we done to help? Our church will focus on issues of homelessness and housing for the next couple months. We expect to learn that we have done quite a lot, but we also believe that we are called to...

The UMCOR Coffee Project is an innovative way to reach out to small-scale farmers in the developing world while enjoying an excellent cup of coffee. As Christians we can address a consumer dilemma by buying coffee that is fairly traded. United Methodist congregations that participate are helping small scale farmers in Latin...
Children’s Council is currently recruiting church members to teach the 2010-2011 Children's Sunday School classes. We have teaching opportunities among all age groups from age 2 through grade 6. We appreciate any time you have to volunteer; just devoting one Sunday per month is all that is required in many of the classrooms. Excellent curriculum and support are provided by the Children’s Ministry, and childcare is also provided for teachers with younger children. Please consider...
Mark your calendar for July 26-30 and August 1. It's time for West End's Music Camp! Children entering grades 2-7 will be learning the show Table for Five.... Thousand! This new musical retells the story of Jesus and the disciples and the feeding of the five thousand. Through beautifully written songs and dialogue, the children will help deliver a message about how living out our faith even in "small" ways can impact our world in very BIG ways.
Camp starts at 9 a.m...
Thank you West End United Methodist for embodying the love of God in response to the historic floods in the Nashville area! By being channels of God’s love to your neighbors you are doing exactly what Jesus calls us all to do. The love channeled through West End to those displaced by the flood has been a remarkable thing to witness.
This congregation generously funded over $25,000 in direct financial contributions and provided over $10,000 in cleaning supplies included in the Flood...

Long ago I realized that cooking can take me out of myself and into a place where I feel a part of a greater whole. When I cook, I sense a rhythm, a...
