UMC Day on the Hill
Join other United Methodists across our area for a Day on the Hill, sponsored by the TWK Church and Society, to focus on gun safety legislation with training in the morning and then advocacy with elected officials in the afternoon. We will be joining Moms Demand Action and other gun safety groups in this effort.
The time is now to speak up, moved by our faith in Christ and united in our United Methodist Social Principles that call for congregations to advocate for laws that prevent or reduce gun violence. Join us in this important work across our connection and in partnership with Tennesseans United for Gun Safety.
Tenative Schedule for the Day
- 10:30 a.m. - 12 noon // Welcome and Advocacy Training
- 12 Noon // Press Conference
- 12:30 p.m. // Lunch with TWKUMC
- 1:30-4:30 p.m. // Legislator Meetings
- 5 p.m. // Debrief Gathering
