The Candlelighting Service, a longtime tradition at West End, is our version of a lessons and carols service, and it is a highlight of the Advent season.  The service includes anthems sung by each choir in the church, from children’s choirs through adult choirs, and opening voluntaries by each of the bell choirs.  It also includes congregational singing of many traditional carols mixed in with anthems from the choirs following readings of scriptures of the season.  A highlight is the lighting of the candles in the darkened sanctuary and the singing of carols as attendees file out of the sanctuary.  A pdf of the program is available below, and it lists the members of each of the choirs.
