We continue our series of lessons and sermons on David with this story of David’s reaction to the deaths of Saul and Jonathan. David’s is a clear, deep, and public grieving for the loss, a demonstration that assures us the church is a place to grieve. Our church family surrounds us to hear our sorrows and be present with us in those difficult times. Moreover, God is with us – God who knows the heights of our joys, but also the depths of our grief. The communion table is an open place to gather to embrace God and each other. (Today's posted video is of the early service, due to a technical glitch.)
