This is the thirteenth of the Encounter Worship Series, a mid-week service of  “prayer and presence,” taking place in conjunction with West End’s Wednesday evening dinner and programming.  The theme for the current series is “Advent.”   Rev. Erin Racine, Pastor of Hospitality and Congregational Care, leads the service this evening, and Matthew Phelps, West End’s Minister of Music, is the music leader.  We are led through three different chants from Psalms 4, 31, and 91.  The scripture for the evening is Isaiah 11.1-10, Isaiah’s prophecy about the branch to come out of the stump of Jesse and the vision of the earth to come.  After singing the Psalms and hearing Isaiah’s vision, we are invited to a time of Reflection and Response.  (NOTE: Below is a pdf of this evening’s program for viewing and/or downloading.)
