We often find ourselves too busy for prayer and meditation. And much of our busy-ness is occupied not only by the demands of daily life, but by doing good works – God’s work. Jesus, too, was besieged by doing good works. But now and then the gospels tell us he went aside to pray. Those times provided divine guidance and renewal and a balancing rhythm in his life.
