People who are reviled and even killed in their own lifetimes like Joan of Arc, Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther King, Jr. and others are seen as prophets in later eras. Jesus is certainly among that number, even for many who would not call themselves Christian. Not only does a prophet have no honor in his or her hometown, but during his or her own lifetime as well.
