Taizé Service of Prayer and Healing November, 2021
The Taizé Service of Prayer and Healing is a different kind of worship service. Contemplative in nature, it is one of the ways to get in touch with one’s mystical self in the company of others with a similar intent. As she has for years, Sally Ahner introduces the service and leads it. Since there will be no Taizé service during Advent (the next one will be New Year’s Eve in the Fourth Story Theatre around the labyrinth), so Sally has designed this service to bridge the season, beginning with a song of thanksgiving, then we delve into the darkness as of winter, and then we sing of hope and hear the hopeful words of Isaiah 40. Then we experience the healing part of the service. This service takes place during the COVID-19 pandemic, but in a time when a number of people have been vaccinated, infection numbers are down some, and some restrictions are eased. A pdf of the program containing all of the music is available below to view or download.
