Once, again, Jesus is confronted by a group of people – this time, Pharisees – trying to trap him in some matter of rule. In this instance it is a lawyer, one who knows the full extent and details of Jewish law, who is asking the question. The response from Jesus is not only something with which even the lawyer cannot argue, but it is instructive and a completely new revelation about God’s law.
