Today’s reading from Acts is about two characters: Philip, whose enthusiasm for his faith is overflowing, and an unnamed Ethiopian eunuch, a person of means and status, who has come to Jerusalem to worship, only to be rejected because of his origin and the fact that he is a eunuch. An angel of the Lord sends Philip to the eunuch, and out of that encounter the eunuch is baptized. It is an example of the broad reach of God to everyone and anyone.
