Vulnerable Love (Maundy Thursday 2021)
In this Maundy Thursday service we remember the washing of the feet and the last supper as told through the Gospel of John. One of the primary characters is Peter. Often in the gospel stories Peter jumps in with acts and words without thinking things through. In her Meditation Katie explores what Peter might have thought through that foot washing scene. Jesus was teaching vulnerability, and Peter’s pride was standing in the way. What if we let ourselves be vulnerable before we really need to be vulnerable? (NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are livestreaming the Maundy Thursday service, using a chamber choir and having limited congregation. NOTE: The video begins with the Communion Meditation, but once it starts you can scroll back to the beginning of the service if you want. The entire service is videoed.)
