In Genesis 18, Abraham is approached by three strangers. He doesn't know them, even whether they might do him harm, but his hospitality is enthusiastic as he invites them into his tent, then invites them to eat. His is a fine example of how we should be toward others. Gathering around the communion table, as we do today, is a primary place for us to practice such hospitality. In the story it turned out that the three strangers were really the Lord, having come to make an amazing announcement to Abraham and Sarah.
