Advent Prayer Stations - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Advent will be quite different this year at West End. As we continue to take precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy, many of our regular Advent celebrations will be virtual or limited in number, not allowing us to be in our building in quite the same way. Yet we know that one of the most beautiful gifts that West End UMC has to offer is gorgeous worship space for spiritual reflection.
Therefore, for the duration of Advent, we will be setting up prayer stations in the breezeway between Scales Chapel and the Sanctuary. These stations will include a place for lighting prayer candles, weekly prayer prompts, and even our life-size nativity that will be visible from West End Avenue. Every Wednesday in Advent (12/2, 12/9, 12/16, 12/23), we will have the entrance to the breezeway open for prayer and reflection at midday (11 a.m. - 1 p.m.) and at night (5:30 - 7 p.m.). When the schedule allows, we will also make the Sanctuary available for prayer during these hours. Pastors and pastoral interns will be monitoring our stations at these hours and available for prayers of healing. You will ONLY be able to enter from West End Avenue in order to keep the main entrance safe and clean for our preschool. Your temperature will be screened upon entry, and a mask is required inside of our building.
We hope you will take the time to drop in for prayer at least once during the Advent season as you prepare your heart and mind for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We look forward to seeing you and praying with you this Advent season!
